Privacy Policy
How Project Bayville handles your data. We keep it simple.
Last updated: March 2026
1. What We Collect
We collect the minimum amount of data necessary to operate the server:
- Minecraft username — recorded in the server roster for plot assignment and community recognition.
- IP address — stored temporarily by the server software for connection and moderation purposes (including ban enforcement).
- Discord username — only if you voluntarily provide it through a builder application, support ticket, or community participation.
2. What We Don't Collect
We do not collect real names, email addresses, or payment information. Donation payments are processed entirely by third-party payment processors (e.g. PayPal or Stripe). We never receive or store your payment card details. Refer to the privacy policies of those processors for details on how they handle your payment data.
3. How We Use Your Data
Your Minecraft username and IP address are used solely for the purpose of operating the server — managing player access, assigning build plots, and moderating the community. No data is sold to, shared with, or transferred to any third parties for commercial or marketing purposes.
4. Data Retention
IP addresses are retained for a maximum of 90 days in server logs unless they are associated with an active or permanent ban, in which case they may be retained for as long as necessary to enforce that ban. Minecraft usernames are retained as part of the server's community records for as long as you are a member of the community.
5. GDPR (European Union)
Project Bayville is operated from Finland, which is a member of the European Union. As such, we are committed to complying with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You have the right to:
- Request access to the personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your personal data
- Object to processing of your data
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us via the Bayville Discord server. We will respond to requests within a reasonable timeframe.
6. Cookies
This website does not use cookies, tracking scripts, or any form of third-party analytics. No data is collected from your browser when you visit projectbayville.org.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be announced in the Discord server. Continued use of the Bayville server or website after changes are posted implies your acceptance of the updated policy.
8. Contact
For any privacy-related questions or data requests, please contact a staff member via the Bayville Discord server. We do not operate a formal correspondence address.
